FREE SVG and Silhouette Studio file!

This will only go out to those who sign up for the newsletter by Sunday night (April 13, 2014)

This month's hop theme is Spring and the team was challenged to use the free file on all our projects!  Fun, right!?  I can't wait to see what my amazing teammates have come up with!

I used the April Free File along with Samantha's Winter Lace Bag and 1-Piece Leaf Cluster Silhouette Files to create an Easter Gift Bag filled with a yummy Cosmic Brownie and a plastic egg stuffed with money (...two things my kiddos love!)!  This bag could be used for so many things, including Mother's Day which is just around the corner!

Here's a close-up of the April Free File Flowers...
Aren't they gorgeous?  There is an additional piece that comes with the file I didn't use so this flower can have many different looks!

Here is my tutorial for recreating this project:
1.  Cut out your flower shapes.  I cut three different sizes of these four pieces.
2.  Use a skewer/pencil to curve the petals of each piece.
3.  Adhere the two larger pieces together, staggering the petals slightly.
4.  Adhere your center two pieces in and add a coordinating jewel to the center.
5.  Here is what my three flowers set look like now.
6.  Bring in Samantha's Winter Lace Bag and size it to fit to the edge of the mat.  Ungroup the file once you have it sized.
7.  Click on the detail cut of the bag (make sure not to move anything around or your score lines will be mis-aligned).  Remove that detail piece.
8.  Drag a large box around the bag shape and regroup all the pieces.  The cut out your bag.
9.  Fold your bag on the score lines.
10. Insert the tabs into the slots on each side to finish.
11. Manually cut decorative papers to fit on the box front, sides, and back and then adhere them in place as shown.
12. Tie ribbon on the center of the bag then adhere your flowers on the front of your bag.  Cut out the 1-Piece Leaf Cluster and trim some of the leaf pieces off and adhere them behind your flowers.  Fill the bag as desired!
