Happy Birthday Matey!

Hi!  Today I am sharing a project that I created for ScrapbookPal.com using my Cricut Imagine and the Buccaneer Cricut Imagine Cartridge!  My son was going to a birthday party and requested that I make a 'cool boy card'!  I thought what could be more cool than a Skeleton Pirate and a Treasure Chest!?  I put a couple layers of chipboard in the Treasure Chest (to add strength) and then placed a couple rolls of money and $5.00 worth of quarters!  It was a hit at the party! :)
Pirate Card and Treasure Chest Tutorial:

 1.  Using the Buccaneer Cricut Cartridge, select the Skeleton Pirate.
 2.  Select the "Happy Birthday Matey!" sentiment.
 3.  Click 'Next' to add both items to the screen.
 4.  Click on the Skeleton Pirate and then choose the pencil to edit.
 5.  Size to 4.0 and then click the 'Layers' icon at the top to separate the pieces.  Click 'Apply'.
 6.  Click on the sentiment then choose the pencil to edit.
 7.  Size to 2.5 and keep the images combined.  Click 'Apply' then click 'Next' on the main screen.
 8.  Follow the prompts on the screen and the printing will begin.
 9.  Once the printing completes, the cutting begins.
10. After cutting completes, remove the pieces and place a new 12x12 white paper on your mat.  Go back to the main screen and click 'Back'.
11. Remove all the cuts by hitting the 'Backspace' button.
12. Navigate to the Treasure Chest cut and add to the screen then click 'Next'.
13. Click on the Treasure Chest and then choose the pencil to edit.
14. Size to 10.5 and keep the image combined.  Click 'Apply' then click 'Next' on the main screen.
15. Follow the prompts on the screen and the printing and cutting will begin.
16. After cutting completes, remove the pieces and place a new 12x12 white paper on your mat.  Go back to the main screen and click 'Back'.  Remove all the cuts by hitting the 'Backspace' button.  Navigate to the Treasure Map cut and add to the screen then click 'Next'.
17. Click on the Treasure Map then choose the pencil to edit and change the paper to the plain paper as shown.  Size to 5.0 and leave combined.  Click 'Apply'.  Copy the item so you have two and then click 'Next' on the main screen and print/cut the items.
18. With your Treasure Chest cut, create creases on the bend areas as shown.
19. Place adhesive on the tabs that are folded in on the photo.
20. Fold the chest and adhere tabs as shown.
21. Apply adhesive to the middle tabs.
22. Carefully fold the large flaps over the middle tabs and adhere, curving the lid.
23. Your Treasure Chest should look like this on the inside.
24. And like this on the outside! :)
25. Take your two plain map papers and add Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the edges.  One piece adheres to the front of the card and the other to the inside.  Assemble card as shown using foam adhesive to pop up some of the pieces!
