Purse SCUT File with Alligator Skin Look
This is my first stab at a purse in SCAL (non-accordion of course!) as well as my first attempt at the "alligator" look! I am very thrilled at the look and amazed at just how easy it is to achieve! Okay, first the SCAL file. You can get the purse cut HERE and the score mark photo HERE.
Now, to achieve the "alligator" look, all you need is a clear ink (I use VersaMark), clear embossing powder, and a heat gun. I also use a bone folder to make the lines but you could use anything with a soft but defined edge. Before you assemble the purse, rub the clear ink on the areas you want to have the alligator look. Spinkle your clear embossing powder on over the ink and shake off the excess powder. Take your bone folder (or whatever you use) and draw lines through the powder. It will build up some flakes - but the heat gun will blow them off, so don't worry! The final step is the heat gun...use the heat gun to set the powder, this will also give it the shiny look. Pretty cool stuff isn't it!
