A2 Card Boxes
These A2 Card Boxes are perfect for storing your handmade cards or for gifting them (and just in time for the Holidays!). The box is approximately 5" x 6" x 1-16" and hold A2 sized cards with their coordinating A2 envelopes!

The scallop box does not have a little tab to hold the lid, it has a band that goes around the top. To assemble the band, place adhesive on two tabs, adhere one end together, then wrap around and adhere the remaining tab. Then slip over the box.

This file is "stacked" in the file. You may need to ungroup in order to move pieces. The "tan" color is the box base and the "blue" color will be the mats. Make sure you move the mats off of the base cuts before cutting.
1. Cut out your box base pieces and fold on the score lines. You will have the oval label shape, the front of the box, and the back of the box (has two small tabs). Place adhesive on the top portion of the front of the box piece. For the back of the box, add adhesive to the bottom flap, the two small tabs, and the two side pieces as shown in the image.
2. Adhere the oval label shape to the front of the box as designated by the arrow.
3. Next adhere the back of the box to the front of the box using the bottom flap. I have placed arrows to show where the two pieces are adhered.
4. Now you can adhere the two small tabs to the inside of the box to form its shape.
5. Adhere the long side tabs together to complete the box.
6. Fold your oval flap over. Cut out your mat pieces. I cut the oval label shape in a coordinating pattern and all other mats in same paper.
7. Before adhering the front of the box mat on, bend up the little tab (half circle) a little. This will hold the lid down when the box is closed. Make sure not to put adhesive on this cut as well so it will be functional. Adhere to the front, centering.
8. Adhere the Oval Label mat in place, centering then tuck the lid into the tab.
9. Adhere on the top, sides, and back mats centering each. If you want, you can cut another oval label mat and adhere to the inside. Decorate and embellish as desired!
