Feeling the Love!
This post should come with a warning as I went a little crazy with the love theme for this weeks Silhouette releases! It started with one heart box and turned into...well...EIGHT! Each one is different and comes with their own embellishments - I even have one that has a hinged opening and one that holds a gift card under the lid!
This box is approximately 5" x 6" x 2-1/2" and the lid sits inside the box. The file comes with the base box pieces (4), the lid pieces (4), and a decorative scallop heart. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.
These will all follow the same basic tutorial - though some of the lids
fit over the box and some sit inside (like this one).
1. Cut out all the pieces and fold on the score lines. We are going to start with the lid pieces first. Gather the two strips and place adhesive on both of the tab pieces.
2. Adhere the pieces together.
3. Then join the end pieces together so it look like this image. This will be the lid frame.
4. Take one of the hearts and place adhesive around the edges (you could also place adhesive on each of the little tabs but I have found placing adhesive on the heart edge to be the easiest way for me).
5. Place the heart with adhesive down in the lid frame piece, placing the tip of the heart in one of the points from the lid frame. Adhere the tabs to the heart, bending to form as you go.
6. Flip the piece over and your lid frame should look like this now (tabs showing).
7. Place adhesive all over the back of the second heart.
8. Line up the heart with the box and adhere, covering all the tabs and securing the lid pieces.
9. Repeat the steps for the box bottom. Then insert your lid into the box.
10. Your box should look like this now.
11. Adhere your decorative scallop heart in the center.
12. Your box is finished. Embellish as desired!
This box is approximately 5" x 6" x 1-3/4" and the lid covers the bottom box. The file comes with the base box pieces (4), the lid pieces (4) which includes one with a gift card slot, and a decorative swirl heart frame. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats. The gift card is held in the inside lid. If you do not want the gift card slots, you can remove them or cut two of the plain heart for the lid.
Assembly note: For this one, the gift card slot heart goes is inside the lid and the plain heart is the top of the lid. The decorative heart swirl frame adheres on top of the plain heart.

This box is approximately 5" x 6" x 2-1/4" and the lid covers the bottom box. The file comes with the base box pieces (4), two band pieces to change the color behind the hearts, the lid pieces (4) , the detail hearts and their corresponding mats. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.
This box is approximately 5" x 6" x 1-3/4" and the lid covers the bottom box. The file comes with the base box pieces (4), the lid pieces (4) , and the bow pieces. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats. The ribbon slots are approximately 5/8" - ribbon shown is 3/8".
Assembly note: For this one, attach the two bottom frame pieces together to form a straight piece and then weave in the ribbon before you adhere the bottom frame together on the other end to for the circle. I also place a small piece of tape on one ribbon end to make pulling the ribbon through easier. With the lid, place your ribbon through the two slots before adhering it to the top of the lid frame then adhere to the lid and assemble bow.

This box is approximately 5" x 5" x 1-3/4" and the file comes with the base box pieces (4), the lid pieces (4), and two ruffled heart cuts, and the doily scallop heart. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats and can be made larger in both formats!
