Christine from Practical Scrappers, is having a baby boy! We are all so excited for them! Some of the DT girls thought up this tremendous idea to put together a baby album for their new arrival! Here is my contribution:
And a close-up of the animals in the train! Yes, of course they are J.M. Rush! You can grab the train files here:

I know, I know...I am not a digi scrapper!
Momenta is releasing new digital items, one being the Sweet Talk digital collection and I couldn't resist trying! I like the mess of scrapbooking so I think I will remain an old-fashion, tools and paper out everywhere, kind of scrapper - but it is fun to play and learn!
I will have to admit though, digi scrapping has it perks; you don't have to worry about getting the perfect photograph of the page, you don't have anything to clean up, and it is much easier to do in the car! :)
Be sure to stop over at Momenta to see the kits!

The second announcement is that I will be designing for ScrapbookPal.com!

Incorporating digital elements into you work can make projects go faster, but some times they need a little extra touch and Glitter Glitz is perfect for the job! For this card, I printed a free digital download from Momenta to get the tag and the dog then traced the areas I wanted to enhance with a glue pen. Once I had the glue covering, I sprinkled Chocolate and Red Hot Chili Pepper Glitter Glitz over the glue!
Supplies:
Glitter: Glitz in Chocolate and Red Hot Chili Pepper (P K Glitz)
Scrapbook Paper: American Crafts and Momenta
FREE Digital Elements: Dogs Collection (Momenta)
Punches: EK Border
Ribbon: American Crafts
Font: Fabulous 50's
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug (Provo Craft)

This week at Practical Scrappers the challenge is to use Felt/Fabric/Tulle!
The flowers are actually tulips that I created a SVG for, I only used the stems for this card. The scallop felt and the butterflies are from Sharing Memories Scrapbooking! I love the details to the butterflies.

What you need:
P K Glitz Sticky Paper
P K Glitz Glitter Glitz
Double-Sided Cardstock
Pen with clear barrel (I use Pentel RSVP)
Adhesive
Two brads
Straight Pen
Straight Pen
String - Approx 2 1/2-3"
Sticky Notes (2 7/8” x 2 7/8”)
Sticky Note Holder:
Cut cardstock to 3 1/4 x 7 3/4 and score at 3 1/8" and then again at 3 1/2". Move your second score line to 3 1/8" mark and score. Then move that same second score line again to 3 1/2" and create the last score. Fold on the score marks. Push a small hole (I use a straight pen to create mine) in the center of the front flap and add another small hole about a half inch under it.
With your string, make a slipknot and place it around one of the brads. Cut off the excess string from the knot so it will not show under the head of the brad. Place this brad in the top flap hole. Put the other brad in the remaining hole. Put the Post-It Notes in the holder and wrap the string around the brads.
Pen:
Cut P K Sticky Paper to 3 1/2" x 3/4". Pull off the top layer to reveal the sticky and shake your P K Glitter Glitz to cover the piece.
Shake off excess glitter. Place glue on the underneath (non-glittered) long sides of the paper.
Take the pen out of the barrel and wrap the paper tightly around.
Place back in barrel and enjoy!

I have been playing with word art and have a few free downloadable sentiments available. Just click on the sentiment you want and you will be taken to sendspace to download the item. They were created as .png files so you can include them in your digi work or add them as a picture in Word to print on your cardstock! Be sure to click on the Word Art link under my blog header to see more!

Have you ever completed a layout then realized that it just needed something more? I wanted this layout to be simple, to showcase the photos, but once it was completed I realized it needed just that, something more! Instead of removing and rearranging items on the layout, I pulled out my glitter!
I used a glue pen to trace the letters in my title then covered them with Poppy Jasper P K Glitter Glitz to bring the letters some much needed attention!

I have been playing with flowers for some time now, trying to determine which style and make I like the most! I love the ease of this flower as it goes together super fast, but it isn't my favorite "look" so I will keep playing! If you would like my SVG for this flower, you can get it HERE

I have gotten several emails about the buttons asking if I have tried them with colored Fimo and what I shape them with. The answer is YES, I have used colored Fimo! I used Black and Silver for these buttons, mixing some together to create the swirled ones:
And for the shapes, well you can really use any small round object to make regular buttons! I am using my small Sponge Dobber end for the larger buttons and I use a toothpick to make the holes. I did find cute little metal shapes at JoAnn's (next to the clay tools) which I used with my Red and my Transparent White to make these:
I love the heart and star cuts...just cute! I left all of these buttons without the Acrylic Sealer, which left them a matte finish.
And of course, more flowers in different colors and sizes!
Now I just have to get to making more projects that I can use all this fun stuff with! :)

I was at Joann's the other day and they had Transparent Fimo on clearance for $0.97 for the big bundles! Just $0.97! I haven't worked much with clay (unless play-doh counts!) but I have always been intrigued by it - so how could I possibly pass up this deal! We all know that we can't use coupons on sale/clearance items...which would explain the "pasta maker" now sitting on my art table! Now that I have the clay and I can make it all the same thickness what else could I do but make BUTTONS!
Over course, these are just my first attempts but I am really enjoying it! I baked them for 30 minutes at 230 degrees and then grabbed my Copic Sketch Markers, my air compressor, and my Copic airbrush kit and started playing! After I got them 'painted' I took them outside and placed a coating of acrylic sealer on them and let them dry! How cool is it that you can match buttons exactly to the color of your Copic colorings! Yep - I will definetly be making more...lots more!

This week's challenge at Frosted Designs is to show us the RAINBOW. Use all the fun bright colors in your layout, card or project! I altered a notebook to personalize a gift for one of my daughter's friends.
I am also trying out New Friend Friday for the first time! Be sure to head over to The Girl Creative to check it out

Crochet'ing was something I started during high school to become closer to my grandmother. She didn't drive so I was often taking her to Wal-Mart or Michaels to pick up yarn and I thought if I was going anyway, I might as well start learning something! I loved spending time with her; learning new techniques, listening to her stories, and learning her style. She made many things but always the most beautiful blankets and I spent hours upon hours attmepting to mimic them. At some point I realized that her creations were hers and that I had my own style. It isn't always the most proper and a lot of times I make up my own rules (and loops)...but it is mine!
I started the larger flowers with a chain of five and went back in through the first loop. I continued around until I was happy with the center circle and then I chained seven and went through a loop in the outer ring of the the circle. I continued doing that until I had six 'petals'. The smaller flower started the same, but I only used a chain of five for each petal and only created five petals.

I love how I can take any embellishment and make it coordinate with my projects by just adding glitter! I had a natural colored monster that I wanted to add to my project, but I needed to change his color to have him to match my ribbon. I used my glue pen and added Lemonade P K Glitter Glitz and within a matter of moments, they coordinate!
I used P K Sticky Paper to punch out the scallop shape and then covered it with Steel P K Glitter Glitz then adhered my modified monster!
Glitter is such an easy (and cute!) way to change up the items we already have!
