Good morning! I am back today with another bargain gift for the teachers!
and hiding inside is this cutie...
I picked up the post-it note holder for just $7.00 from a local Office Max and spent about $0.35 for the vinyl! We also picked up a three pack of the pop-up post-it notes which were on sale bringing this teacher gift in at under $10.00 in total! WooHoo! Anyone else excited!? :)
How about a quick ribbon tutorial? Maybe that will do the trick!
1. Gather your box and clear a little space to work.
2. Trim a large piece of ribbon and place the center of the ribbon across the top of the box.
3. Pull the ribbon down under the bottom of the box and then cross the ribbon and begin pulling them back up to the top of the box.
4. Both of your ribbons should be back at the top like this image.
5. Push one of the strings under the ribbon already on the box.
6. Then push the second one under in the opposite direction.
7. Pull the two ribbons back up and then tie together, pulling the ribbon tight.
8. Tie a bow as you normally would, fluffing out the bow area.
9. Pull the end to the side behind one of the loops of the bow then tie another bow in the center of the existing bow. Trim the ends to the desired length. If you have a lot of excess ribbon, you could always tie a third bow!

Not convinced yet!? Well, let's show you just a little of what you can do with the Silhouette Vinyl!
Today we are using the Pear Blossom Silhouette cut and the brown vinyl
to create a personalized Teacher Gift!
We are going to start by bringing in the Pear Blossom cut into
our software then right-clicking and selecting 'ungroup'.
Next size the image to meet your needs. We used 6.105" x 4.000".
Cut your vinyl to fit the area of your cut and place it on your mat. Load your mat and then press the 'Send to Silhouette' button. Change your cut settings to 'vinyl', adjust your blade, and press 'cut'.
After you have cut the image, unload your mat and remove the top layer of vinyl.
Your image should look similar to this..
Pull the remaining image off of the vinyl backing sheet and gently place on the glass container, smoothing the areas as you apply it to remove any bubbles.
Use the text tool to create the teacher name and cut as we did the image above.
Tie a large ribbon around the top of the container and add gems to the three flowers as shown.
Fill the container with pencils and you gift is ready!
Vinyl is so easy to use and the possibilities are endless!

For this month's Blog Hop the Creative Team has
been working on Holiday Cards and Gifts and today I have a
fun project to share!
Tutorial:
1. Wash and completely dry your mug.
2. Size the Silhouette saying to 2.850" x 3.25" and cut with vinyl.
3. Remove the vinyl from your mat and then cut out a square around the saying. Remove the background of the saying from the backing and lay it sticky side up on your desk/work area. (You can keep the lettering for another project!)
4. Place the mug down on the vinyl then smooth is out making sure all the letters areas are pressed down securely.
5. Once you have the vinyl in place, grab a Sharpie permanent marker.
6. The Sharpie can bleed through the vinyl, so carefully trace the letters.
7. Once all the tracing is done, let the marker dry (10-15 minutes) then slowly remove the vinyl.
8. If you have any extra marker pieces, you can fix them by making a letter a little thicker to incorporate the marks or try to erase them with a white eraser if they are far enough beyond the other lettering. I went back in on this mug and added in red Sharpie to the bubbles on the cup.
9. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes then let cool in the oven. Once cooled, the marker should be set. Your mug will need to be hand washed as the dishwasher seems to fade and scratch the design.
You can now fill your mug with gifts or your favorite beverage!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
