This Christmas Wish box is approximately 5" x 3-1/14" x 2-1/4" and is perfect for holding homemade goodies, gifts, and more! The file comes with the box base, the box band, and a print and cut scallop with the design/saying shown. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats. You can find a full tutorial on my blog.
This file is "stacked" in the file. You may need to ungroup in order to move pieces. The "dark green" color is the box base and the "light green" color will be the mats. Make sure you move the mats off of the base cuts before cutting. This design also comes with a print and cut label (the scallop cut). Below are steps to help you with that piece and then the box tutorial will follow.
When you open the file, your screen will be similar to this. Again, be sure to "ungroup" before cutting as mentioned above. For the Print and Cut, I like to take that piece to another page, so I select the scallop design piece then choose "Edit" and "Cut" then open a new Silhouette Studio Window and then in the new window choose "Edit" and "Paste".
Next you will need to click on the Design Page Settings and then choose "Current Printer" or make your page 11" x 8.5". I use landscape.
Click on the Registration Marks icon, then choose your machine type.
Next step is optional, I like to save paper so I adjust my registration marks using the right and bottom insets to get the smallest square possible for the printer marks the Silhouette machine reads.
Once you have completed these steps, send your item to the printer then follow the steps to scan the registration marks/cut the item. Close out your window and return to the box cuts and complete those!
Here it the tutorial for the box once you have it cut.
1. Cut out all your pieces and fold on the score lines. Adhere the mats to the box in the coordinating areas then add adhesive to the side tab of the box as well as the side tab to the wrap.
2. For the main box, fold the tab and one box side over then fold the other box side in and adhere the tab securely.
3. Pop the box to form its shape then turn it over so the bottom is showing. Fold the large slot piece down, tuck the two sides in.
4. Insert the tab into the slot and push down. You will have to complete the closure with your hand in the box to close properly.
5. Grab your wrap and adhere the tab to the other side to form its shape as you did the box.
6. Flip your box over and slide the wrap on.
7. Adhere the scallop Print and Cut piece with foam adhesive then decorate, embellish, and fill as desired!
