This week at Practical Scrappers we are having a challenge for Transparency! I am incredibly excited because I had to make two this week...the first one I made is being published in Making Cards Magazine (it's my first publish)! This is my second creation for the challenge:
Card details:
This was all cut from the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge.
Snowglobe was cut at 5 1/2" in pink and clear (globe-s)
Main globe was cut in silver at 5 1/2" (globe with blackout option on)
Snowman was cut at 2 1/2" (snowman-s) - he is traced with a glitter pen.
The black crystals for buttons and eyes are ZVA Creative Crystals
Ribbon, EK Success
Buttons are Autumn Leaves and Misc.
Cardstock is DCWV
And the snow mounds were hand-cut and covered with Stickles (Crystal)
I hope you are able to join us this week at Practical Scrappers!

Early this week I was shopping and I ran across a set of stamps by Penny Black called Dino Party. That stamps set included this little bird...there just wasn't any other way - I had to have him!
Paper is Pink Armadillo by The Paper Studio, Stamps, Penny Black and Kollette Hall, Copic Markers (YG03, G07, YR04, BG10, & C1), Bling is Icons.

This was a cricut cut file that I was going to share with everyone, but I am not having much luck today. I had CDS installed on our laptop along with all my cut files and it is on the fritz. We were able to pull most of the files off of the laptop to an external hard drive, but it appears that a couple items copied over empty (0 kb) and the laptop was cleaned before this was discovered. I know that these things happen, but boy it sure does stink when it happens to something you have spent a lot of time creating! Cricut isn't open on the weekends, so no CDS for me until Monday! I may go back and give this one another shot once I get it back up, because I do love these!
The top cuts are what produced my large amount of snowflakes that I posted about earlier this week with the 3D tags. If I get this re-created, I will create a post and add them to my side bar.

Okay, so I have to admit...this wasn't something I set out to do. I was working on another gift card holder in CDS and realized that my desk was becoming full of snowflakes...and come on, I couldn't just let them go to waste!
To make these I cut out four snowflakes (these are from the Joys of Season cartridge), scored them in half and folded them over then just glued all the sides together. I thought that they would make cute tags for gifts!
I hope to have the cut file in which they came from posted by the end of this week!

I am still working on templates for the holiday season. This is a gift box for the gift cards!
Get the cut file here: Gift Card Box
The cut file was designed using Wild Card on a 12x12 mat, but can fit on 12x6 (you just need to remember to change the size in CDS). I have a photo below that shows the score lines needed as well as 'tiny' score lines built into the cut itself. Once you have all the score marks in place, put adhesive on the underside of the top flaps. Fold the small cut squares in first and then the top flaps (that have adhesive) and then bring the bottom flaps up and secure in place. The top pieces folds over and tucks in the slit.
The little bird on the front of my Gift Card Box is also a cut file. I have two sizes for him on the cut file, the one displayed is the small bird. The cut file for the bird can be found here: Bird
This was created using Walk In My Garden. Enjoy!

This week at Get Sketchy they are having a bonus challenge to not use pattern paper in their sketch! This is a tough one for me...I am all about the paper! Here is my take on their sketch:
Also, have you seen the design team over at Frosted Designs? You should come meet them, such a talented group! I hope you join us next week for the first challenge!

I am so excited! I finally got the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge! I couldn't resist trying it out, these puppies are just so dang adorable! The Smile puppy is cut at 4" on regular and then again on solid. The pattern paper is K&CO, Greenhouse. Of course I had to add googly eyes after all this one is going to a very special (soon to be) five year old!

This is the gift box for the Play Station 3 and BluRays!
The cut file can be found here: PS3 & BluRay Gift Box
This one like the DS and Wii/DVD box that I posted previously. The cut file was designed on a 12x24 mat using Wild Card. I have a photo below that shows the score lines needed - all but one of the score lines are making scores between the cuts. The one score you have to make on your own is on the very right (vertical) and you have to score that at 1/2" from the edge. Once you have all the score marks in place, put adhesive on the underside of the 1/2" vertical score that you made above. All the other sides tuck in.
Leave me a comment if you make one so I can come see!

This is the second card for this weeks Practical Scrappers Design Team Letter Sticker challenge:
I used two O's cut in half for the scallop, two B's cut from the Cricut (one is upside down) and two I's for the butterfly body, I used the Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder for the background and ran my cats eye chalk ink over it. I hope you give this challenge a try! Click here to get to Practical Scrappers!

I made this card for this weeks Practical Scrappers Design Team Letter Sticker challenge:
I used two W's on the side, three O's and two 0's for the caterpillar body, and two M's for his feet. The moon and grass were cut from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up and the stamps were from the dollar bin at Michaels. It took some thought to find a way to use letters for something other than a title, but I am pleased with the results! I hope you join us this week for the challenge.

Look - it's here! The Nintendo DS Gift Box!
This one is much like the Wii/DVD box that I posted about over the weekend. The cut file was designed on a 12x24 mat using Wild Card. I have a photo below that shows the score lines needed - all but one of the score lines are making scores between the cuts. The one score you have to make on your own is on the very right (vertical) and you have to score that at 1/2" from the edge. I can't wait to see how you decorate yours, so leave me a comment if you make one!

Have you seen the glow-in-the-dark glitter from the Martha Stewart line? I spotted it the other day while out and about and passed it up...which only meant that I had to run back out today to find it! I had to try this stuff out on some eyes and I have to tell you, this is sooo incredibly cute in the dark! I created a cut file for this card (because it makes it easier for me!) so I thought I would go ahead and pass it along. This was designed on the George and Basic Shapes cartridge and can fit a 6x12 mat.
The cut file is here: Spooky Eyes
The cut file contains the card base, which will need to be scored at 5". The card base also cuts the inside of the eyes, keep those two smaller circles! There is also a tab to cut the large eyes out in white paper (those are the ones inside that I glittered up with glow-in-the-dark), and then there is a third tab with the happy halloween saying. Please note that the card base has two holes toward the bottom of the card. This is where I placed my ribbon...if you don't want them there, just delete them.
Inside of the card:

Okay so you should know that I am really excited about this cut file (hehe - yes, you read right, I am excited over a cut file!)....this cut file is for a gift box for DVD and Wii games! With Christmas around the corner, this is such a need in our family and I can customize the box to the individual! I am soo loving this!
You can find the cut file here: Wii_DVD Gift Box
This cut file was designed on a 12x24 mat using Wild Card. I have a photo below that shows the score lines needed - all but one of the score lines are making scores between the cuts. Viola - gift box! Now all you need is to decorate to fit your need! :D
If you use the cut file, be sure to post a comment, I would love to see what you make!
OHHH - and stay tuned...there will be a PS3 and Nintendo DS gift box coming soon!

I am so excited the work week is over...it was a long one! I have nothing on the agenda today, which feels terrific :) . This little monkey has been begging me to cut him since I picked up the Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls...I think he is just adorable! I cut him out at 4" twice, one at regular cut and one at shadow on craft paper. I used my watercolor pencils and dove blender to color him up! His belly and little bit of hair was covered in Fun Flock (still loving this stuff!). The word stamps are from Hero Arts and the side scallop stamp was from Archiver's hot spot area. Can't wait to see what everyone else is creating this weekend!

I made this card for this weeks Practical Scrappers Design Team Shape challenge:
I have 39 circles on this card (12 small, 25 medium, 1 large, and 1 jumbo)! To create the center of the flower, I used the medium punch and placed two circles together (7 times) and then stapled the bottom of the circles together, fanned them out and then adhered them to the large circle with glue dots. Stamps are Hero Arts The pattern paper is by My Mind's Eye. The leaf is from Cricut, Walk in my garden.
You have to give this challenge a try - it was so much fun...stop by and play with us at Practical Scrappers!

This cut file is created from the Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge. It has the card base, two inside mats (for center piece) and a smaller inside mat (for inside piece in the inside of the card). The cut file can be found here: Swing Card
***I have recently added this as a file for Plantin Schoolbook - you can get that version HERE***
This is the front of the card:
This is the inside of the card:
This is the back of the card when it is fully opened:
As you can see from the photos, the inside piece 'swings'. When you cut the card base, you will have to add four score lines. You can see the score lines in the photo above. Once you have the score lines, you fold one score up and then the other score down (you can see this better in the middle picture). If you have any issues or questions, just leave me a comment!
Paper and ribbon is from American Crafts, the flower was cut from George at 1 1/2" three times and embossed with the cuttlerbug (2 layers with the swiss dots and the top layer with Thank You). I went over the embossing with my glitter pen.

The flower was cut on the Cricut with George and Basic Shapes (1 3/4" cut three times for layers). I used the Cuttlebug to emboss two layers with the swiss dots and the third/top layer with the swirls. I then went over the embossing with a glitter pen. The paper is Pink Paislee, Pop Fashion, ribbon is DCWV, & stamp is from Studio G.

This cut file is for a small box (2.5" x 2.5" x 1.5" high). The cut file is created from Cricut George and Basic Shapes and is designed to fit on the 6x12 mat! The cut file can be downloaded here: Small Box
The photo below shows the score lines. There are little ones created on the cut file, but they are hard to find if you don't know where they are.
Once you have the score lines complete. place adhesive on the pattern side of the side tab (shown at the far left side in the photo above). Bring the tab over to the far right edge, line up the score lines and adhere. The rest of the pieces on top tuck in. The bottom has slices and tabs. The slice pieces fold in first and then the tabs are inserted into the slices.
These make perfect little boxes for candy or earrings/jewlery!
I would love to see what you create, so leave me a comment so I can come look!
