This basket is a big one and can be made even bigger too! The file comes with the basket base and the mats, As sized in the file, the finished box is approximately 4-1/4" (with handle, basket is 10") x 5" x 4-1/2" (widest areas), but the file can be made larger or smaller to fit your needs and is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats!
Here is the tutorial these baskets follow:
1. Cut out the basket base pieces and fold on the score lines.
2. Place the main base piece down and adhere the piece with the single tabs on each side as shown.
3. Adhere the double tab piece in place so each side will have a tab to adhere.
4. Adhere the handle piece together using the small dash as a guide for placement. Slide the handle through the slots.
5. Adhere the basket bottom in place to hide the basket side bottoms.
6. Adhere the tabs to the basket sides.
7. Adhere the mats in place.
This basket is a big one and can be made even bigger too! The file comes with the basket base and the mats, As sized in the file, the finished box is approximately 3" (with handle, basket is 7") x 4" x 4-1/2" (widest areas), but the file can be made larger or smaller to fit your needs and is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats!
This basket is a big one and can be made even bigger too! The file comes with the basket base, the mats, and the flower, As sized in the file, the finished box is approximately 2-3/4" (with handle, basket is 7") x 4" x 4-1/2" (widest areas), but the file can be made larger or smaller to fit your needs and is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats!
This basket is huge! The file comes with the basket base and bunny mats, As sized in the file, the finished box is approximately 3-1/2" at the bunny back, 6-/14" at the bunny ears (with handle, basket is 10-3/4") x 7" x 6-1/2" (widest areas), but the file can be made larger or smaller to fit your needs and is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats!
Here is a quick tutorial:
First, with Silhouette, there is an active mat (which is the white mat that mimics your actual mat) and the inactive area (which are the grey areas off to the side). Anything on the white mat will cut. Anything off to the side (on the grey) will not cut so you can keep your extra pieces there.
I have this file setup so you can keep everything grouped together and just move the box around to fit the pieces in. For example, when you pull it up the large top bunny with the slot will be placed in the top right of your mat. The other pieces will sit within the grey areas and will not cut. Once you cut two of the bunny with the slot, simply move the box of all the grouped items to the left so the bottom (square) and handle pieces are in the top right corner of the white mat. Then when that is cut, repeat for the two bottom sections.
You will cut two of the bunny with the slot, two of the other large bunny, and two of the large square pieces (these are labeled within the file). You can cut out two or four of the bunny mats depending on how you want your basket to look and just cut one of each handle.
- Fold on the score lines.
- Adhere one bunny with slot to a bunny without the slot. The side tabs get adhesive as well as the bottom panel. Then adhere the other slotted bunny on opposite the original bunny with the slot. The handle will go in these pieces, so make sure they are across from each other. The finish by adhering the last bunny side in place.
- Your square pieces will adhere inside the bottom of the box to cover the bottom and the other on the underside.
- The handle has a small score line on one end. This is for a guide to glue the other handle piece on. Adhere the two handles together. Insert the handle into the slotted bunny pieces.
- Adhere your mat bunnies on to the slot bunny piece to cover the handle. If you cut four mat bunny pieces, you can adhere the other two in place on the other bunny pieces. I adhered mine with foam adhesive to give it more dimension.
- Tie a bow or twine around the handle where the two join and fill with goodies!
This basket is a big one and can be made even bigger too! The file comes with the basket base, the mats, and the flowers which include stems and leaf pieces! As sized in the file, the finished basket is approximately 2-3/4" x 4" x 4-1/2" (widest areas), but the file can be made larger or smaller to fit your needs and is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats!
To assemble the flowers:
1. Starting with the stem, grab your rectangle. Place adhesive on one corner and use your skewer/pencil in the opposite corner to begin rolling to the corner with your adhesive on it. Once you have it rolled, secure the end with a strong adhesive or tape and remove your skewer. Trim the bottom of the stem so it is flat. Cut slices in the other end of the stem so you have three parts.
Curl the leaf pieces and then adhere the circle area around the stem closure area. I am using Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive for my stems/leaf pieces and that holds them really well.
Adhere the two center pieces on top of each other, staggering the pieces then pull up the points as shown. Curl your flower petals.
2. Adhere you flower center on the smallest petal cut then adhere that in the center of the largest petal cut. Place adhesive on the three flower stem pieces.
3. Adhere your flower on the stem.
4-5. Continue building your flowers with the steps above until you have six (or the desired amount you like) and place them in your basket!
