3D Paper Poinsettia and Poinsettia Wreath

This file comes with all the pieces you need to create this Poinsettia flower. The pieces are sizeable to fit your needs and are compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.

1. Cut out your flower pieces and use a pencil/skewer to bend the petals.  I place my skewer in the center of each petal and pull the sides up around the skewer.  Curl the leaf pieces and then combine the centers together, pulling up the points.
2.  Line your flowers up in size order and start with the largest on the bottom.  Adhere the next largest inside the bottom.
3-4.  Continue adhering the flowers in size order.
5.  Adhere your centers in the middle.
6.  Adhere the flower on the leaf cut.  Fluff as desired!

This file comes with the wreath base, the leaf pieces, and the pieces to build the flowers.  It is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.  Note: The file comes sized to fit the 8x12 mat but can be enlarged (make sure you leave it all grouped) to have the wreath base fit the full 12x12 mat.

For this wreath, you can follow the flower tutorial above as the flowers are similar.
Once you have the six flowers built, tie ribbon through the wreath base then adhere your poinsettia flowers on the wreath base.

I enlarged my wreath to have the wreath base fit the 12x12 mat.
Here is what it looks like on my front door...

  3. Love this! What kind of paper is used?

  4. I use heavy card stock - usually 80# card stock weight. I believe I used Basis Cardstock with the wreath and Bazzill for the individual flower. Thanks!

  5. Hi I just purchased this from the Silhouette Online Store and there seems to be an extra piece? There's a leaf piece like what you have pictured and then another one that looks like one small individual leaf.

  6. How many pieces of red paper, green paper and white paper do you use to make the 8x12 version? TIA

  7. Hi Michele! I use the small leaf to fill in the wreath area between the flowers. Thanks!

  8. Paul, It looks like you can get 2 sets of flower petals on each 8x12 sheet if you move them around creatively. You need 6 in total, so 3 sheets there (you may need to break that up into 5 to get 3 of each color though - just depends on what color(s) you are doing the flowers). Then you will need another full 8x12 sheet for the leaf cuts (you can fit all six on one piece), and another sheet for the flower centers and lastly the wreath base. I hope that helps!
