Good Evening! Today I am sharing my new
Battery Operated Tealight Characters and Gift Box.
These files work with a battery operated tealight and they come with all the paper elements shown. The files are compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.
1. Cut out all your pieces. Grab the piece with the tabs. Place adhesive on the side tab then adhere the tab to the other side of the piece to form a circle. Adhere the berries on the holly.
2. Grab one of your circle frame pieces and place adhesive all over the back of it. Push the bottom tabs down so they are flat against your workspace. Insert the circle frame piece, adhesive side down. Adhere it securely to the tabs. I use a tongue depressor/craft stick to smooth mine out and adhere it in place.
3. Your piece will look like this.
3. Your piece will look like this.
4. Place adhesive on the back of the second circle frame piece then place it in adhesive side up (but don't push it all the way down yet).
5. Push your tabs down.
6. Flip the piece over and push the circle frame down against those tabs and adhere in place.
7. Your piece should look like this now. Grab the third circle frame piece.
8. Place adhesive on the back side of the circle frame and adhere it on the form. This will be the top. Gather your solid circle.
9. Flip the piece over and adhere the solid circle on the bottom.
10. Your piece should look like this now.
11. Flip the piece back over and your battery operated tealight will fit inside.
12. Gather your snowman pieces. Adhere the hat band on the hat and then adhere the holly on it.
13. Adhere the smaller circle behind the face circle.
14. Your face piece should look like this now.
15. Place adhesive on the backside of the face and adhere it on the candle base as shown.
16. Adhere the hat in place.
17. Tie a ribbon (or twine) around the paper base of the tealight holder.
18. Your holder should look like this now.
This box is approximately 4-1/4" x 4-1/2" x 1-3/4" and it works with all the Battery Operated Tealight Characters shown above. The file comes with the box base, the box lid, and the coordinating mats as well as a window sheet cut. The file is compatible with both the 8x12 and 12x12 mats.
Here's the tutorial:
1. Cut out all your pieces and fold on the score lines.
2. Adhere the mats in place as shown.
3. Place adhesive on the four tabs of the base box and on the four tabs of the lid. Adhere the tabs to the box sides. Your boxes should look similar to this.
4. Place the lid over the box base.
5. This is a view with one of the tealight holders inside the box.
6. This shows that tealight holder with the lid on.
Note - the file comes with a window sheet cut. I do not have it in place as it makes it difficult to photograph.
Here's a look at the new files hitting my store later this week!
Hi Jamie
ReplyDeleteI just love your files...I practically have them all ;-) Sorry if I sound a bit dumb now, but how are you going to turn on/off the tealights in your cute characters? And change battery?
/Helle Bilde Müller
Such a great idea. Definitely going to make these. But I have the same question as Helle. How do you turn tea light off & on? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe heads adhere to the tealight tops so that you can easily remove the actual tealight to access it. If you are gifting, you could use removable adhesive to adhere the head to the base if you wanted to. :)
ReplyDeleteJamie your designs are amazing and adorable! Your creativity, your ideas are incredible ... thank you for taking the time to create all of these amazing projects!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jamie - now to make a bunch of these cute characters :-)

Thank you for your tutorials!
ReplyDeleteThank you love these Jamie, really great idea. Just made the elf, Father Christmas and gift box. All came together beautifully x
ReplyDeleteWhere does one find the window sheets for the box?
ReplyDeleteThe window sheet is labeled in the Character Tealight Holder Box cut file. It is found under the lid cut.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jamie
