Large Gift Box

This Large Gift Box is a great size measuring approximately 3-7/8" x 2-5/8" x 5-7/8"!  It comes in two pieces allowing it to cut on both the 12x12 and 8-1/2x12 mats!  This box would be prefect for gift giving or housing large party favors!

Here is the tutorial:
 1.  Cut out your box pieces then fold on all the score lines.
 2.  Place adhesive on the two long tabs and the long bottom flap as shown.
 3.  Adhere the two box pieces together.
 4.  Fold the remaining long tab over to the center of the box then bring the other side of the box over to meet.
 5.  Adhere the two sides together.
 6.  Push the box to form its shape then on the bottom push the two side tabs in and the small flap down.
 7.  Adhere the large flap up to cover the other pieces.
 8.  Rotate your box to work with the lid.  Fold the two side flaps in.
 9.  Then tuck the lip of the lid down in the box.
10. Your finished box should look similar to this.  Decorate as desired!

Here is another version of this box!

  1. Love this box, Jamie. I am new to the Silhouette but looking for a box to package about 12 Christmas cookies in. Do you think this would work? Also, what type of material do you use? And, do you print the design on it first and then cut it? Thanks, Tammy!

  2. Thanks Tammy! It would depend on the size of your cookies. I would think that if you stacked them and packaged them on their side, you may be able to fit two rows of six. For this box, I just used a heavier patterned paper (I believe this was Imagineisce). If you are going to be placing in 12 cookies, I would recommend 80# card stock or something around there just so it can support the weight. I have a Santa Box very similar to this box as well out in the store. Thanks! J.
