Pocket Wedding Invitation - Silhouette Cut File!

Good Morning!  Today is a new release day at the Silhouette store and I have ten new files to introduce to you this week and I can't wait to get started!

First up this week is my Pocket Fold Invitation cut file. This file will work with both the Cameo and Portrait and it comes with everything you need to start building a fabulous invitation including the pocket fold envelope with a band wrap to hold it closed, a 4x6 invitation cut (shown in main area), and five detail cards to hold all your information (shown in pocket area)!  The best part, I designed this set to fit inside a standard A6 (4.75" x 6.5") envelope which will help keep your party costs down especially if you are using these for graduation or weddings where you invite a lot of people!

Tutorial:
1.  Cut out all the pieces within the file using the desired cardstock.
2.  Working with the pocket envelope, fold on all the score lines then add adhesive to the two tabs as shown.
3.  Fold the two tabs in and pull the pocket piece up and press firmly to adhere to the invitation.
4.  Print or stamp your invitation details on the card cuts then adhere the 4x6 cut to the inside area and stack the five detail cards in size order then slide them in the pocket area as shown.
5.  Fold the pocket area in then fold the envelope flap over to close.
6.  Take your band wrap piece and place your invitation down on top of it.  Apply adhesive to the areas shown then press the long strip on top of the shorter strip.
7.  Flip your invitation over and it should now look like this image.
8.  Place a foam adhesive square on the wrap as shown.
9.  Adhere the 2x2 cardstock piece on the foam adhesive, centering.

Here is an example invitation that I have created.  I used ribbon around this one instead of the band wrap.

Here is a peek at what else is coming this week!

Many of these files will have tutorials to go with them.  I have them scheduled to go live on the blog during the week so if you are having issues accessing one be sure check back - it may just not be live yet!  Thanks!

  5. Hi Scarlett! These invitations were cut with 8-1/2x11 Curious Metallic Cover Weight Cardstock the weight of the paper is 92#. I purchase mine through CutCardStock.com as they offer sample packs of the papers and carry a lot of heavier cardstocks that I have issues finding elsewhere! Hope that helps!

  6. Thanks a bunch for the template! This is so easy to use. I added a little design to the flap edge to sass it up a bit and also using a boning tool to get a nice crease on the folds. Can't wait to get cutting and making invites for our wedding :) I got a quote at a bridal show for the invites I wanted - which looked very similar to the template - and for 70 invites, she was going to charge me $680!!! I bought paper on sale for $30. Plus I can make these my own have them be something special! Thanks again Jamie Lane!

  7. I know this post is old, but I am really confused, so hopefully you will reply. I downloaded the file and I really don't understand how to place the paper on the mat. When and what to cut or how to assemble. Please help. The cut file is very confusing. Do I "no cut" some of the elements? :-(

  8. Hi CraftyGabby! With Silhouette Studio there is an inactive mat (the grey area) and the active mat (white area that looks like your cutting mat). Simply move the file over to fit the pieces you want to cut on the white area of the mat then load your paper to match and cut. Once you have those pieces cut, slide the cuts over and cut out the rest. You can also ungroup items as well if you'd rather cut certain pieces at a time. Hope that helps!

    Thanks, Jamie

  10. Totally agreed with Dexter Louis. Really unique. I loved its simplicity. I want to have one like this as the designer mother of the bride for my daughter's upcoming wedding.

  18. I just downloaded this file in the Silhouette store and opened the file. It looks to me like the left part of the envelope (where the invitation goes) is separate from the pocket side. But it doesn't look like that in the pictures. Am I right that they're 2 separate pieces of cardstock or should it print in one piece? Sorry, but I'm confused!

    Thanks,
    Dawn
