Now on with my projects...

Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite Silhouette designs!  I love-love this Silhouette design by Samantha Walker!  Isn't it gorgeous!?

Supplies:
Cardstock: Creative Memories
Punch: Border (EK Success)
Baker's Twine: Maraschino (The Twinery)
Misc: Ribbon and Metal Hearts

My next project is my ruffled purse!

I have seen several different versions floating around on Pinterest but I couldn't find a tutorial anywhere so I decide to create one for you!
This project would be a great beginner piece and even fun for the kids!

Supplies:
Purse: Messenger Bag from Joann's (BagWorks)

I started off with a plain messenger bag that I purchased at Joann's (in with the t-shirts and aprons)!

1.  Cut five strips of fabric 3" in width.  Cut the strips so that they are about 1-1/2 times (or more) in length than your project base.  Note:  As you ruffle up the fabric it will loose length and it is easier to make them longer and trim them before attaching them to the bag.  For the first four pieces the tops will be hidden under the other ruffles so all you need to do is fold the 3" strip in half (along the long edge) and put your sewing machine at the highest/tightest tension with the longest stitch it can make.
2.  Now for the fun part!  Feed your sewing machine the material as fast as you can (still maintaining a somewhat straight line) so that it 'bunches' up under the sewing foot.  This is what will cause the ruffles.
3.  Trim the ruffled piece so that it will fit across your bag the way you would like it to.  Start with the bottom ruffle and sew the ruffle on to the bag with a straight stitch.
4. Repeat steps #2-#3, placing the second ruffle above the lower ruffle so that it covers the top edge.
5. Repeat steps #2-#3, placing the third ruffle above the lower ruffle so that it covers the top edge.

Continue repeating until you have all four ruffles in place.  With the last ruffle (ruffle number 5!), the top edge will show so you will want to finish it properly before making it ruffle.  To do this, take the last 3" strip and fold it so the pattern side touches and place a straight stitch along the top edge all the way down the long side.  Turn the piece inside out so the pattern side is showing (this can be tricky if your piece is long since it is a narrow tube!  I used an unsharpened pencil to poke mine through).  Once you have it turned back, repeat steps #2-#3, placing the last ruffle above the lower ruffle so that it covers the top edge!

Add spirals of fabric or rosettes to finish!  Easy and it goes really quick!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects, thanks so much for stopping by!
