After seeing this post by Monika Wright, I knew I had to have an ornament book to document our family tradition! Monika has amazing mini albums and so many clever ideas and even beautiful templates that she shares! She is a daily source of inspiration for me! If you haven't visited her blog, i love it all, you must go take a look!
Each year the we take the kids to pick ornaments of their own and each year there is a different story and a different adventure. Some years they know what they are after and some years we spend weekends looking for the perfect one! Now we have the scoop of all the years past and spots to hold the future ones for years to come!
I created my template as a png file which I have as a Word Document sized to fit a wallet photo. You can download them through these links:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh what an AWESOME idea Jamie!!! LOVE IT!!!! WOW!! I need to do something like this! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

I was just thinking I should document the stories that go along with the ornaments as we were decorating the tree this year. I like the album idea... thanks for sharing the templates!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute idea...but I plan to use it for a mini-album for my great-grandson, and grandkids. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! thank you for sharing the templates! Every year while decorating the kids ask when/why/who of their ornaments, this is a great way to show them and also so as I get older, I won't forget!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteThe album, the downloads and the fact that you're capturing stories are all so perfect! Makes me smile that you liked my idea and took it up a notch!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave in the Cutting category today [21 Dec 01:00am GMT]. Thanks, Maria

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family :)
That is such a great idea! Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea Jamie. I may have to borrow it to make an album for the ornament lovers in my family. :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Splendiforous idea! Thank You! I'm going to knowck out one tomorrow to give our daughter!
ReplyDeleteAt first I wasn't going to DL this since we don't do this tradition (we have a fun tradition of finding/making a small picture frame ornament each year and putting our family picture in it)
ReplyDeleteBUT then I thought we do have quite a few ornaments that have stories behind them and the picture frame ornaments are getting so numerous it's hard to remember each one w/o seeing it - so I may use this more as a guide. (this year we had the darndest time finding 2007's and it would have been easier if I could remember it was a silver oval frame! -and if the kids hadn't decorated that tree so fast and pulled out so many extra boxes!! -not that I'm complaining- I love that they are so excited to do it)
So, Thank You for helping me get my decorations a little more organized!!
What a fantastic idea! My mom has so many ornaments with stories like this, this would be fantastic for her!
ReplyDeleteJamie you are so creative!!! I love this idea~! Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the download! My husband and I, and now baby, have done the ornament tradition for three Christmases now, and I've been looking for something like this! I'm not quite so crafty as you, so I used the png and printed them out to be 4x6 sized and put them in a cheapie photo album - it works great! The only difference is that the photos can't be true wallet sized, but I just trim them down a bit. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteam wondering what did you use as the front cover of the album and were do I get it. Also the coral top to make it into a book.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea and am making two one for each of my kids
Thank you
