I used lots of layers and foam squares and added in a bit of twine to her hat! To finish it off, I added in a sentiment sticker and a Kanban punch out sentiment!

13th Birthday

Did you get it?

I created this card for my Nephew's Happy 13th Birthday! He is a genius when it comes to math - so I know he won't have any issues with this problem. He passed me up in math speed about....ummmm....4-5 years ago! Sad, but true! I need paper to complete problems people! :)

If only I could get him to go shopping with me to help figure out all those percentages and the actual costs...now that would be awesome!

I am still trying to figure out how he got to 13 so quickly!

I was able to spend a couple hours playing in my Art Room this weekend and loved every second of it! I dug out some of my Kanban Crafts Cardstock and Toppers. I absolutely love the background cardstock that I used for this birthday card! It has gold embossed butterflies...so beautiful!

I have been such a huge fan of SRM for so many years and have tried for their design team a couple times! When I received that email with the acceptance, I could barely believe it! I even made my husband read it to make I read it right! :) Then, of course I talked about it the rest of the night!

Spellbinders Projects

Recently, Spellbinders had a call for their 2012 Design Team and I decided to give it a try! I sent in this flower bouquet for the first round submissions and much to my surprise, I made it to Round Two! I had tried out the year before and didn't advance, so you can only imagine how excited I was!

For the second round, we could not create a project from the same category as the first round, so I had to choose a layout or a card. I went with a layout, this one actually! :)

This was such a fun opportunity, one I will try again in the future! :)

Happy Saturday!

Today I am sharing my first project using WOW Embossing Powders and of course, two of my favorite models, Hannah and her bestie Ashley!

Aren't they adorable!? :)

I stamped the page in several areas using the script stamp from the Call Me Stamp Set and then used a variety of powders in each of the areas, doing each one separately allowing it to dry before going on to the next. I also used the script stamp as a base for the butterflies, then stamps the butterfly outline using the Build a Butterfly Stamp Set, then embossed it with the Cotton Candy pink!

My next project is a Digital Die-cut By Samantha Walker for Silhouette! Did you see Samantha Walker's "New This Week" post on Monday? There were so many wonderful designs...my favorite? Well, I would have to go with the Chevron Patterns! The look is so "in" right now and I couldn't be more happier! I just love it :)

Boo Box Publication!

Remember my BOO box that I created last September? It was recently published in the October Cricut Magazine. I just received the project and the magazine back this week. I just love how Magazines photograph projects, they really make each project look amazing!

I wish I had props like these on hand for each project I create, how fun would that be!? :)

I am usually not a "pink" girl, but I will have to admit, I really adore this line. I used a mix of Kanban Crafts products for this card, all from the Blush or Pink collections! I made the circle shaped card by folding the Blossoms Border cardstock in half and then used my Creative Memories circle cutter, lining the edge against the fold of the cardstock! Super easy and quick, but it brings an entire different look to the card! Everything else was just popped out of the Kanban paper collections and adhered on with Foam Squares!

The Earth Laughs in Flowers

I love this quote and Kanban Crafts only makes it better by putting it in a foiled font! This quote and those little flower circles come in the Free As A Bird Element Pack. There are several elements within the pack, each as beautifully designed! These packs are perfect for putting together quick cards, just pop out the elements and add some foam squares or adhesive and you are good to go!

Hi! Today I am sharing with you a card I created using my new Cricut Imagine and the Imagine More cartridge.

Steps to duplicate:

Once you have the pieces cut, trim white cardstock to 5-1/2" x 11" then fold in half to create a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" card. Punch the top right corner with a corner rounder.
Trim brown woodgrain paper to 5-1/4" x 5-1/4". Punch the top right corner with a corner rounder and adhere to the center of the white cardstock.
Using Cat's Eye Chalk Ink in Chestnut Roan, ink around all edges of the white cardstock.
With the green pattern paper, trim to 1-1/2" x 5" and use a border punch along the bottom edge. Adhere to the center of the card, lining up the left edge with the brown woodgrain paper.
Assemble the pieces cut from the Cricut Imagine. Using a stamp or word art, add in 'for you', then use foam adhesive under the lined paper circle and attach to the other pieces. Adhere the grateful word as shown then adhere the entire piece to the card as shown in the photo.
Using the Large Circle Nestabilities, punch three circles in orange then use scissors to create a spiral cut in each. Roll the papers into flowers and adhere as shown.
Place small gems along the left top edge of the green pattern paper and place larger gems inside each flower roll.
Tie a bow in brown twine and attach to the right of the flowers.

Happy Bracelet

I have been working with Momenta products for the Winter CHA show and having so much fun finding new ways to use the products! One of my favorite projects is a bracelet I created using the Birthday Wishes Puffy Word Stickers!

I used white packaging twine and a simple double chain crochet stitch to create the bracelet then added the "happy" sticker on with hot glue and a hidden safety pin to hold it securely!

I love the look and the fact that I can add so many different words onto these bracelets. There will definitely be more of these to come!

Today I am sharing another layout using Kanban Crafts!
I love the background paper, just look at all the metallic accents, so pretty! I also used a strip of Kanban's acetate papers that have glittered images (bronze flowers). I love that I can adhere the glittered side down so you can still see the glitter, but you don't feel it and it doesn't get all over the project (or me when I touch it)!

Paper Bow Tutorial

I have had so many emails come through this past week asking for a tutorial for the paper bow I created for my box ----->
So here it is! They are very simple to make and after you do a couple, they go super quick. I love layering the pattern paper on top of cardstock, the bows feel and look more "store bought"! You can adjust the sizes to create smaller or larger bows, even flip them upside down and put the center ring on the bottom for a different look! I have used Creative Memories Holidazzle collection and Creative Memories cardstock for this bow. If you have any questions, just leave me a comment or send me an email!

I love vintage look these papers and stickers have.

I really like the vintage look that many of you produce with your crafting, but I have to admit it just isn't something I can do easily...I really struggle with it and it usually takes me a long time. But with the help of this line, this one came together super quick and I love how it looks!

The Donut Whole!

Mmmm, the donut whole...a little donut store in the middle of downtown Wichita. Free advertising: They have donuts of ALL flavors...and I really mean ALL! If you can think it, they make it. From donuts with cereal on them to donuts with bacon in them! So many to look at and many I wouldn't be brave enough to try! :) If ever you find yourself in Wichita, Kansas - look it up. It is worth the adventure!

Remember When...

I love this photo of Hannah. It is one I captured back when we were back in Kansas for a visit. She was sitting on the porch, just taking in all the action around her. She loves being in Kansas...and I love that! It is home for me and she shares that in her heart too!

Do you see this flower? I received a couple of the EK Success Dimensional Flower Punches for Christmas and I really enjoy them! They are so easy to use and you can change the look of the flowers by how tight you roll them and layer them with different papers! How did I ever live without them!? And those shiny stickers are from Momenta! Those come in ALL different colors and sizes in the Bubble and Bling sets - one of my must haves!

All the paper and those gorgeous dragonflies are Kanban Crafts. They have so much detail on the dragonflies...the gold through the middle shines and the wings have sparkle I couldn't capture! Their papers works wonderfully with the EK Success Punches, as if they were meant for each other! :)

This was one of the projects I did for the Spellbinder's Design Team Call. We were only allowed to submit one entry, so I thought I would share with you the one that I didn't send in! Though I love my little tree, I didn't think it was unique enough to make the cut, so I decided just to add it in with my home decor for the Holidays! As you can see, I used the Creative Memories Holidazzle Paper Collection so that it would match my wreath and layout, which are also out on display!

I love the fullness that the Spellbinder's die cut give to the tree, a little different look than the rolled paper or the flat circles I have created for trees in the past! With the Spellbinder's die cuts, I am able to cut several sheets of paper at the same time which really speeds the process up since I used well over 100 scallop circles!

Merry Christmas!

Each year we start our holiday season off by shopping for ornaments for the kids! It is always so much fun to see which ornaments they will choose and I think it is even more fun pulling out all the old ornaments from the past years and placing them on the tree with them! We have a mini album that we update each year with a photo of the ornament and the reason or story behind it, but having all the past ones on a layout is really special to me and we have it displayed in our living room with the holiday decor!

Holiday Break = Crafting with the Kids!

I will admit Holiday breaks, especially those that are two weeks long, tend to frighten me! It's not that I don't like spending time with the kids, because I love it (mostly :) )...it is the "Mom, I'm bored..." I just can't take. For instance, yesterday morning Gannon had a friend over for the night and when the friends Dad came to pick him up in the morning, before the door shut Gannon was in my art room saying "Ugh, I'm bored...what can I do?"...seriously, the door wasn't even closed!

I am constantly hunting for cheap activities and ones that will take some time up! I find Redbox to be a blessing as the kids love picking out their own movie and at $1, I can afford a couple each week they are off :) ! We play video and board games, try to find cheap outside the house activities such as swimming at the local high school, roller skating on the cheap days, matinee movies at the theater, and may even attempt a drive to the ice rink, and I always stock up on dollar store goodies for crafting!

This year I found a bag of multi-sized foam balls at our Dollar Tree so last night we pulled out some toothpicks, the foam balls, some scrap ribbon, old brads, and a little bit of wire and glue and off they went, creating snow buddies!

Digital Birthday Thank You's

If your monkey's are anything like mine, you know how impossible "thank you's" can be when it comes time to write them out! It seems the older they get, the more difficult the task becomes!

This year, I planned ahead! I knew I wanted to get a group photo of the gang so that I could include it on the Thank You note. It takes up space so Hannah doesn't have to write a long paragraph and what kid wouldn't want a photo of themselves and their friends!? :)

I created our Thank You notes digitally using Creative Memories Storybook Creator 4 and the Creative Memories Cheerful Birthday Digital Additions! I made the Thank You notes a little smaller than a 4" x 6" so that they would fit into smaller envelopes that I already had on hand :) and left space for the wallet size photo that I printed at home! I had Hannah come up with a couple short sentences and I changed up the font so that it would be closer to her handwriting and then we printed them all out (getting two to a page) on white cardstock. We had the Thank You notes and photos printed within 10 minutes and assembled and ready to go out is less than that! Easy, cute, and no fighting what-so-ever!

I love digital for these uses especially!

Happy Birthday Bag

Hi guys! Today I am going to share with you a quick altered bag! These are perfect for unexpected gifts or for those times when you just do not have time to create an entire bag! I started with a brown paper lunch bag and punched the top edges with a border punch. I cut a slice down along each punched edge then folded them over and adhered the punched border to the bag.

I used Kanban Crafts PCT9881 and PCT1885 to create the front and matching label for the bag, using foam squares to make the rose and sentiment stand out! I then attached the tag with some baker's twine and filled the bag with our birthday gift!

Trust me on this one...there are so many wonderful projects, you will want to make sure you see them all! And...Samantha is offering some of her digital artwork as a prize, we all know how much I love all of her digital lines!

Now, we all have those individuals on our list that are just impossible to buy for! Today, I am going to share with you my solution for those family members! My son and I worked together for this project. I asked Gannon to find a coloring picture online for his Great-Grandma and to color it up for me...she loves airplanes, so this one was such a great pick!

While he was busy coloring, I found a frame and began cutting 1-1/2" strips of Samantha's Decadence Fabric she designed for Riley Blake with my pinking shears (make sure you cut a starter strip so both long ends have the pinking shear cut). Once I had several strips cut, I removed the backing and glass from the frame then placed adhesive on the back of the fabric strips and started wrapping the frame. Just keep adding in strips as you go, making sure to cover the frame entirely! To finish, I used a smaller strip to tie a knot along the left side of the frame and found a small yellow jewel to add to the center of the knot!

I added the glass back to the frame and then put in Gannon's picture (didn't he do amazing!?) and secured the back of the frame in place! I used a cardstock sticker label from Samantha's Creative Imagination Orchard Harvest Line to add to the back of the frame and had Gannon write a note to Great-Grandma!

I love gifts that we can build together and I am certain Great-Grandma is going to love it too!

My second project is a cut file that Samantha designed for Silhouette! The file is "Present Card" and has so many possibilities! The little package comes apart to reveal the card inside!

I used the Samantha Walker Creative Imagination Christmas Traditions collection to create the card.

I love creating Christmas tags and with Kanban Crafts, they are just so quick and fun! I punched out two White Shimmer tags using my Creative Memories Tag Maker and then added in two embossed images from Kanban Crafts using foam adhesive! Add in a little ribbon and fiber and you are all set!

Gift Card Holder for the Tree!

As the kids become older it seems that more and more gift cards are requested so more and more holders are needed! This is the easiest gift card holder I have made yet!

I cut a White Shimmer cardstock to 8-1/2" x 2-1/2", then scored along the long side at

3-/2" and again at 7". I folded the small flap up and punched the upper corners with a 1/4" corner rounder then stapled along each side to form a pocket for the gift card. I folder the large flap down and used the 1/4" corner rounder on the bottom two corners. I added matching trees from Kanban Crafts to the front and the back of the gift card holder using foam squares, then punched a hole for the ribbon loop in the left corner! Simple and easy! If you were giving it as a gift rather than hiding it on the tree, you could use a small Velcro circle set to keep it closed :)

Update and Zippy

I know, I have been a bad blogger but I am working on all sorts of projects, the only problem is I can't share them just yet! I have been working with some new Momenta products for the CHA Winter show and looking through LOTS and LOTS of Design Team Applications!

(and there is still time to apply, call ends 12/15! You can check it all out by clicking here!)

I have also been busy creating projects for the 2nd round try-out with Creative Memories! If you follow my Facebook feed, you know I completed my projects over the weekend and that I am really happy with the end results of all three projects! I have everything turned in, so now I just sit and cross my fingers and wait. Have I ever mentioned how awful I am at waiting? :)

And, of course, I can not forget to mention all the birthday fun we have been having celebrating Hannah's 12th! She had an entire group over this past weekend to hang out, celebrate, eat, and play games!

We found some wonderful "teenage" games online like Skittle Mouth and Truth and Dare Balloons! The games were a big hit and I have a blast watching and taking photos! :) It was a loud night, but lots of fun to be had!

Then there is Zippy.

Zippy is a new addition to our home! Gannon found him at Hallmark last night while we were picking out the kids' 2011 ornaments for our tree! He couldn't stop talking about him and how his friend down the street has one. It melted my heart and so Zippy is now ours forever...well, if he comes back anyways! We registered him last night and read the Elf of the Shelf book then woke this morning to find him wrapped up on Gannon's chair at the table! He was sitting up - but when the girls walked by, he flipped upside down - causing the whole house to fill with screams (Yes, Hannah is scared of Zippy...I believe the exact quote was "He is CREEPY"). So naturally, when Zippy flipped both she and her friend Ashley filled with squeals and ran! I do see her point...the little guy has been staring at me through this entire blog post...time to turn the chair around!

I hope you will forgive my bare blog for another week or two. I will post the projects that I can and will stop in with an update here and there!

These are super easy to make and they go quickly once you have done a couple! You can build them out of your current stash of scrapbook paper as well and play with the sizes to create all sizes of bows!

I created this bow using Creative Memories Holidazzle Paper and Red Cardstock! I trimmed the red cardstock so it was a 1/4" larger than my pattern paper strips then adhered my pattern paper to the center of each cardstock strip before building it!

Wishes for You

Today I am going to show you how to make this dimensional flower using the Circle Maker!

Our first step is to punch out 20 large circles and 7 small circles. I am using the Reflections Designer-Print Paper which is double sided (if you are wanting to use different papers, you will need 10 large circles for the first layer, and 9 large circles for the second layer).

Note: You will have one extra large circle which is explained below).

Next, we are going to fold each circle into a cone, leaving one large circle for the flower base. I folded my large circles so 10 with the green side showing and 9 with the gray side showing. All 7 of my small circles were folded with the green side showing.

Cover your base with adhesive strips as shown above.

Adhere 10 of the large circles to the base, flatten the bottom of the cones to the adhesive.

Next, adhere the second layer of the large circles, changing colors as shown.

Then add in the third layer with the smaller circles.

Using a small paper flower from the Reflections Paper Flowers, attach to the center of the flower using a small foam square. Add in a small heart using the Silver Metallic Precious Element Fine-Tip Pen then attach your flower to your project!

It's Jamie with you here today and I am sharing a couple of my favorite projects that I created using Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Round 14 and Momenta's Pyramid Pads!

The little cupcakes from the Let's Party Pyramid Pad work perfectly with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Round 14!

It is like they were just meant to be, right!?

And I love how the Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Round 14 fit inside the Charm Settings! These metal embellishments have so many possibilities! I used Momenta's Kaleidoscope Pyramid Pad added two Charm Settings to my card below!

For my last project I pulled inspiration from Pinterest! I found a ribbon bookmark out on the boards the other day and thought that it would be perfect to duplicate but with paper! I stitched two 7-1/2" x 1" strips of pattern paper together from the Kaleidoscope Pyramid Pad. I wrapped each open end of the paper around an elastic hair band and then stitched each side closed. I placed the Charm Setting on a small metal loop and then attached it to the elastic hair band!

These are super easy and quick to make and they would be a great gift for any reader!

LYB Hello Fall Cycling Team!

I am so excited to be back with you today sharing Little Yellow Bicycle's Happy Fall collection! This line has fabulous colors and amazing embellishments which include clear cut shapes with glitter accents, like the orange flourish I used below as well as corrugated shapes and lots of die cuts and labels!

There are also chipboard shapes with glitter accents and canvas border stickers which I used to alter a plain white frame! I added in our names on little leafs to make a family tree!

And my most favorite embellishment pack from the Hello Fall line? ...the paper flower kit! The flowers are already cut, all you have to do is score, fold, then mix and match the pieces together to create an amazing display of flowers!

Aren't they gorgeous?

I used a canning jar filled with glass beads and used the Crepe Paper Lace Stickers and Cardstock Die Cuts to create the wrap!

Surprise for the Christmas Tree!

This is one of the quickest boxes I have ever created and I think it is just perfect to hide money or gift cards on the Christmas tree! These would even be cute to hold "hints" about where gifts are hidden!

I wrapped the red cardstock to form a loop then pressed the two ends on each side in to form a pillow box. I then added in a frame from the Christmas Green Wreath papers! I punched a hole and tied twine from The Twinery so that the box could hang on the tree!

To create this card, start with a base of 8-1/2" x 5-1/2".

Score at 2-1/8" and 2-3/8" then again at 6-1/8" and 6-3/8".

Use a border punch to dress up the edges.

Trim coordinating paper to 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" for the inside panels.

Use foam adhesives to attach the butterfly then stamp a sentiment.

Use ribbon for the wrap to hold the card closed.

Creative Memories recently release Storybook Creator 4.0 software! If you have not ever tried the software, you really should! They have a free trial download that they offer on their site which you can find HERE. I have played with many programs and this by far is my favorite...it is easy to use, has lots and lots of built in features, and CM offers a lot of tutorials on their digi site! You can purchase CM digital content or import other kits! I use the program not only for digital layout and hybrid projects, but for creating word art, photo collages, and tutorials for my blog! This is one product that I can not function without - really, I love it that much!

The layout above was created using SBC 4.0 and the CM Serene Digital Kit which was included in my 4.0 upgrade!

It seems to be everywhere and even earlier than last year...but I think I say that every year! This weekend I busted out some Kanban Stamps and colored up these adorable Santas from the Happy Christmas acrylic stamps!

Football Gifts

Each year the football staff allows me to be down on the field capturing all the memories I want with my camera! Even though I get in there way from time to time, they are always allowing me to capture the kids and they never complain (at least not to me) about it! So as a thank you, I create each of them a scrapbook with photos and scores from each game along with some extra shots, including individuals shots and after hour get togethers! I also put a DVD of all the photos I captured at the back of each book!

This year I created 9 books! I used Creative Memories Football Digital Addition and the Storybook Creator Software to create the pages. I purchased double sided matte photo paper (from Staples) and printed the pages out on 8-1/2" x 11" papers then trimmed them to 8" x 8" and binded them myself using my Unibind Photobook Creator and 8" x 8" Unibind photobooks!

I was thrilled with how they turned out and the coaches seemed to have been as well!

Altered Candles with Matching Card

This weekend we took Gannon to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate a test at school that he did well on (after MUCH studying)! While we were there I was admiring their little boats that the wings and fries came in...and well, I snagged one for the road! ***okay this is where you tell me that I am not the only one that actually empties one of these to take home for a template!*** My husband laughs because I am always putting some type of coaster or box in my purse - it is just what we do....right!? :)

See that little boat below holding the candles? Yep - that is it! I traced it on the back of some Kanban Crafts Cardstock. The weight of the Kanban cardstock is amazing and is perfect for boxes and bags! I added some decorative cardstock to the sides and then decorated the candles with a wrap and a flower...and of course we had to add in a matching card to complete the gift!

This time I designed a card with my digital software and then printed it out and added a couple embellishments to create a hybrid card! My favorite thing about hybrid is that it can be designed once and used over and over again! Just think how easy it is to pull up a file and print it, cut it out, then slap it on a white cardstock base - super quick!

If you follow me on Facebook, you already know that Samantha Walker has released more digital kits in her store at Jessica Sprague! It is really beautiful and I can see myself using these kits for many projects...including the layout below!

That is my niece Rylan and the sentiment couldn't be more true...she totally makes me smile! I don't know if it is because she is the baby of our little family or if it is because she is 1,000 miles away, or because she is just so stinkin' adorable, but she has me wrapped around her every finger! And...to be honest, I am quite okay with that! Every princess needs a few fans, right!? :)

Isn't that such a great sentiment!? I am loving this card - so playful and fun! This is one of Kanban Crafts Wobbler card sets, Max! Have you seen these in action yet? The card base is rounded so the card actually rocks! You can decorate the Wobbler by adding in extra pieces or using foam squares to lift pieces up! There are so many possiblities! Halloween Recap!

We had so much fun last night and ended up with loads of candy...well the kids did, I actually ran out of candy this year which is a first for us! We had around 150 kids come through our court and I ended up having to get out our slim jim's and fruit snacks to supplement our candy bar stash!

This was the first year that the kids got to go through the sub on their own as well! And...as nervous as I was the 'entire' night, they both survived and I had them back before 7:30p! This letting go thing is much harder than it seems! :)

The costumes for the night - Gannon was a skeleton with color changing eyes and Hannah was a zombie. I completed this layout using Samantha Walker's Harvest Moon Halloween digital collection! I love the pattern papers and embellishments from this line!

This was Hannah's group of friends she adventured out with. That little skeleton isn't Gannon, it is one of her girlfriends - she and Gannon had identical costumes!

And here is bubby - being his normal, goofy self...posing for the camera!

Playing with Dolls

Yes...we have been playing with dolls! Hannah and Ashley (both tweens) are always looking for "something to do" so last weekend we pulled out my crochet yarn, some wooden balls, and a pack of woodsies (like toothpicks with dull ends) and this is what we came up with:

We all agreed that these were much harder than they look. The sticks tend to move around and the yarn upwraps itself as you work, so the dolls take on their own personality and develop themselves as you work! It's funny to watch what they become. We all agreed to try again - we just need to think up a smarter way to build first!

Another Sewing Project!

Look, that is two sewing projects in one week! :)

I am always buying notebooks. I love paper and I like having lists (for most everything!)! There is just something rewarding about being able to check off an item and seeing your list grow and shrink throughout the day. It makes me feel like I have actually accomplished something and it keeps me organized. My only issue is that notebooks have become sooo pricey! Seriously, I grabbed one up at Staples the other day and it was $18.99...and back on the shelf it went. It was cute...but come on, it is just a notebook!

During the summer the office supply stores had great back to school stock up sales and the kids and I managed to get a whole container full of composition books collected by going to the stores each week. I like the size of the composition books, but the covers are very much lacking in style! Typically I cover them in paper, but it takes some time so I thought why not make a fabric cover the books can slip in and out of...which leads to today's project! :)

This cover has fabric folded over on the inside of each end to form pockets so I can slip my composition books in and out! I used the Decadence Cotton collection from Samantha Walker for the fabric which matches with the CI Orchard Harvest paper collection by Samantha Walker! Since I had paper to match, I was able to sew on two paper pears, add in a clear button with coordinating papers under it, and added in matching paper to a clear barrel pen to have it all coordinate together! I love that this can be used over and over and that everything coordinates together!

Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team!

Hi guys! I am so excited to be a part of the Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team and to bring you these projects using the Head of the Class collection!

The LYB Head of Class collection is wonderful! I love the designs and colors that this line brings and as always I love-love-love the weight of the paper and all the matching embellishments that LYB has brought out with this line! You can see the entire collection by clicking HERE.

My first project was this classroom art piece which will be gifted to Gannon's teachers for Christmas!

I cut the Head of the Class paper down to 8-1/2" x 11" so that it would fit through my everyday printer and then designed the word art using my Creative Memories Storybook Creator 4.0. Under all those crayons is a faint outlined "M" so I would have a form to follow. I used plain scissors to cut the crayons to fit the shapes of the letter and then used my hot glue gun to hold them all in place...this is a bit tricky because if you aren't careful, the crayons will want to melt. I placed the hot glue down on the paper, waited just a bit for it to cool some and then placed a crayon bit on top of it, doing each crayon one at a time. It goes pretty quick :) I then added in the chipboard "learn", "discover", and "grow" flags using foam squares and placed the fabric stars under my word art!

I bought a document frame from a discount store (so it would hold the 8-1/2" x 11" paper). The glass really secures those crayons in place!

We have a lot of teachers for each of my kids, so next I went with a simple yet handy teacher gift - Pencils in a tube :)

I punched Hannah's name out of the Practice your ABC's paper, layered and inked them for extra depth.

3D Paper Pumpkins

It's been a while since I have done a tutorial, so I thought I would share with you one of my favorite fall paper projects, Paper Pumpkins! These are really quick to put together and a great project to do with the kiddos! I am using the Creative Imagination Orchard Harvest paper collection by Samantha Walker for my pumpkin! This line has those adorable little paper leaves that I added to my pumpkin stem - they are already punched out and detailed! :)

I love Kanban Crafts Reflective papers they just bring so much attention to projects, the photos never do them justice. I have been playing with the Mirror Reflective Silver this week and will have another card later to show you too!

For this card, I stamped the butterflies and sentiment directly on the Mirror Reflective Silver paper and in real life, they look like they are floating on the paper (like they would if you added them to a mirror). It is really a neat look. I used Stayz-On to stamp with so they wouldn't smudge! I added in a frame from the Black Birds Luxury Card Kit to show them off! :) I love how this one turned out!

Something Different!

I usually keep my blog to my paper crafting passions...but today I am changing things up and adding in some fabric! The amazing Samantha Walker has teamed up with Riley Blake giving us fabulous fabrics to play with...and I love that they coordinate with Samantha's paper lines! Just think of all the possibilities!

I have been playing with the Decadence Cottons and today I am sharing with you a purse that I designed! Sewing is like paper crafting to me...you are able to see instant results just by combining a couple pieces together and with my short attention span, that is a great thing! :)

I love being able to create freely so I do not use patterns which means each piece I create is totally unique from any other and usually a surprise on the end result! :) There are times when things don't go as planned, but for this one...well, I absolutely love this one! I have a pocket on the outside of my purse which holds my keys and a pocket in the lining to hold personal items. The purse is deep which allows me to toss in a book (and my husband's ipad when he isn't looking), and I can still fit the all the necessities my purse normally holds! As if the functionality wasn't enough, just look at those beautiful colors and prints! {love}

I love this sentiment, it just says so much in five little words. Of course, the embossed gold and metallic details on the paper sure help deliver its point! This is more from the Vintage Time and Gentlemen's Adventure collections and I mixed in a postcard frame from the Baroque line! The details in this paper are to die for...just look at the dimension - stunning right!?
